Chiropractic is a specialised field of spinal health care. According to Chiropractic principles, when the body is not in a state of harmony or balance it is in a state of dis-ease. Dis is a prefix meaning "apart from" and ease meaning a "state of balance", therefore dis-ease is the lack of balance.
There is an intimate connection between the spinal vertebrae and the nervous system. The nerves pass through holes in the vertebrae out to the body. If a vertebra is not moving to its full range it will interfere with the nerve at that level. This nerve interference disrupts the flow of nerve information from the brain to the cells in the body and back to the brain. This disrupted flow means the body's processes will not be functioning at full potential, causing disease.
Chiropractors have the ability to improve the function in the neuromusculoskeletal system (the nerves, muscles and joints of the body) by alleviating the nerve interference and returning joints to their full range of movement. Nerve interference may lead to certain types of allergies, infantile colic, croup, organ problems (Ear/Nose/Throat, Cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary and genital), coughs / colds, poor posture, scoliosis, difference in leg lengths, neck/back pain, leg/arm/joint pain, arthritis, numbness, weakness, fatigue, headaches, bed wetting, skin problems, irritability, nervousness, learning disorders and poor concentration.
Chiropractors are expertly qualified to provide spinal adjustments, other manual treatments, exercise instruction and patient education. There are three levels of care practiced at Dubai Herbal and Treatment Center that a patient will progress through to improve overall function, health and quality of life; each level varies from patient to patient.
- Level I Care involves visits, daily to three times a week, beginning the reduction of the clinical indicators of nerve interference.
- Level II Care involves visits, one to two times a week, focusing on reducing the clinical indicators of nerve interference to a minimum level.
- Level III Care is lifetime care with the frequency of office visits varying. Once there is a maximum reduction of the clinical indicators of nerve interference the objective focuses on sustaining the patient at that level.
The Chiropractor does not heal the body; only the body can heal itself. Everyone will benefit from Chiropractic care however it is not the quick-fix instant cure for anything.
