Ozone Therapy

What is Ozone?

Ozone, a natural component of the atmosphere, is a special variation of the element oxygen and consists of three atom molecules. It has a very high oxidation effect. Therefore, it is also known as active oxygen.

How do we produce Ozone?

Pure oxygen and extremely high discharge energy make up ozone. In 1857, Werner V. Siemens used this technique for the production of oxygen. In principle it has remained unaltered to the present day. The production of our medical ozone = active oxygen.

What effect does Ozone have on the human body?

  1. It helps the liver essentially with detoxification.
  2. It enforces decomposition of fats (cholesterol and triglycerides).
  3. It considerably improves the metabolism of the cells and the motor of energy production in the body
  4. It brakes down the level of uric acid which is the cause of gout and a damaging factor for the vessels
  5. It improves the blood flow, reduces circulation troubles and prevents new problems
  6. It reduces clotting of the red corpuscles and thus improves the transport of oxygen and the blood flow
  7. It kills and deters many kinds of bacteria, viruses, and fungi

Types of Ozone Therapy:

Ozone Therapy is about 80 years old and has been used very successfully by therapists' worldwide. Millions of patients have been treated in different ways;

  1. Autohemotherapy - 50-200ml of blood is drawn into a bottle. The bottle is turned upside down and ozone is infused into the bottle and then transfused back to the patient.
  2. External limb bagging- a bag is placed over the affected area. Once the ozone is humidified, it is pumped into the bag. It will kill any bacteria, virus, fungus, or molds infecting the area.
  3. Intramuscular- a direct injection of the ozone gases into the muscle.

Indications for Ozone Therapy:

  1. Boosting immune system
  2. Infections (viral, bacterial and fungal)
  3. Rheumatic/Arthritic conditions
  4. Poorly healing wounds
  5. Diabetic foot (Gangrene)
